Which folder would be the best for a budget of 75$ more or less (less is better :D)?

The use will be EDC, opening box at work and sometimes light bushcraft duty (dunno, whittling sticks, carving wood etc.).
Oh, and I prefer a steel that can take a good coarse edge. When I'm not playing at home, I sharpen my knife with a red credit card DMT. I've heard that s30v performs better with a coarse edge than a polished edge, is it true?

I have used an Opinel n.7 (and a SAK) until now, and I like the carbon steel and the edge it takes with a 600 grit stone, but I want something that I can open with one hand.

Maybe the Buck Vantage Pro?

Buck Vantage Pro rocks. Also Kershaw Junkyard Dog 2 Ti framelock flipper - blems are about your price point, lots of fun to flip and sharp as a scalpel. Find Kershawguy for it.

The Kershaw Junkyard Dog 2 with the combo blade of 2 steels would be a great knife in that price range. It's large enough to get the job done, and can take some abuse. The D2 steel edge takes and holds a great edge.

The Vantage Pro in S30V and G10 is a good one. Just a little smaller than the JYD II.

Kershaw Junkyard Dog (JYD) 2 composite blade with CPM D-2 cutting edge. Look at the "for sale by dealers" subforum and find kershawguy who sells them for an amazing price.

I got a Kershaw Blur (Blem) from him with a ZDP-189 blade for $65 shipped, it's a hell of a deal IMO. I've replaced it with a BM nitrous stryker but for $65 it's a steal.

Spyderco Endura, Full Flat Grind, VG-10 Steel. At around $60, this Endura is a great knife. I think FFG and VG-10 go together very well.

The Kershaw Lahar is another one to look at...I got one a few days ago in a trade, and find it to be an excellent folder.

You could get THREE (3) Ontario RAT 1's for $75

I just got one. Great knife for the $, if you want a good size folder.

Not so sure about the sharpening thing, but mine was sharp as H3LL out of the box. (AUS 8) Touched up pretty easy too.

Hey, with 3 of them never have to worry about not being able to sharpen at home :D

Like I said, for the $, great knife.

Thank everyone for the suggestions!

I'm in Italy so it can be difficult to find some knives. I know a site who import some knives from the US (and also have great prices compared to the crappy average of the other italian shops. Ex: Buck Vantage Pro, 57€ (78$); other online shop, 90-95€ (123-130$!!!)). They haven't the Junkyard, but they have various FFG Endura e Delica. I lean towards the Delica now (the Endura is a little too big for EDC, the knife-law in this country is a mess). How the vg-10 compares with the s30v of the Buck? I know, this is such a new question, nobody asked it before. :D

PS: The RAT-1 is a good knife and it can be found in Italy, but I want to try a new steel, just for fun!

How about the Kershaw RAM? It's my favorite Kershaw and I got mine for around $50

I do not know of a knife for less than 75 cents.

Look how funny you're trying to be.

@ Sababa

There have have been lots of good suggestions so far. My choices would be the Kershaw RAM, Kershaw Blur (pick a color any color) and Buck Vantage Pro.

I was going to suggest a knife, but HoosierQ bet me to it.

I like the Endura and prefer the larger size - it's a good choice.
The Delica is just a smaller version of the same knife, so it should be good too - probably a good option if you would get in trouble for carrying an Endura.
VG-10 is excellent - it takes a VERY sharp edge, holds it well and is easier to sharpen than S30V. Though I'd happily buy a knife with S30V as well.

The RAT-1 is INCREDIBLE value for money, an excellent knife well worth it for twice the price it sells for. It is the same size as the Endura though, so that may put you off. If you do want one then there are several retailers in the US that ship overseas.

Bottom line:
If you buy an FFG Delica then I don't think you will be disappointed.
