Folder w/rubber inserts? advice needed

Would you recommend something like this

but with decent steel (better than 420) and rubber (kraton) inserts in the handle?

It depends on brand and specific model
Quality of the knife doesn't depend only on materials used...
 
If it has to be kraton then probably Tomcat wins. (BTW Boker uses Kraton too)
But there are others too (although they may use something else than Kraton®)

I believe those MODs and that particular run of the UMS had a kind of grip-tape in the handles, not kraton. Some people would prefer that over kraton since it won't melt if you get bug repellant containing DEET on them.

I do have one folder with the kraton inserts, the MT Amphibian. I made an exception for that knife, knowing the inserts would probably have to go at some point, because the knife was just so damn cool.
