I've spent most of my time looking at and learning about and buying modern folders and fixed blades but now I want a traditional folder. My requirements are carbon steel blade ( would like something that'll form a patina, not stainless) and with a bottle opener. Also would prefer to spend less than $100. Like I said, I don't know much about traditionals and don't know what good brands are, so any suggestions would be welcome.

A GEC #15 radio jack it is. You' ll not find a more handsome blade that meets your specifications.

That's exactly what I'm looking for, problem is I can't find anywhere to actually buy one. Are they out of production or am I not looking in the right places?

Get on the GEC website and check their distributors. I found one but buy it quick they don't stay there long.

Thanks for the help, I think I'm going to have to cruse the exchange if I want one. I went through every single vendor on the site and nothing.

There are other options besides the Radio Jack (which is about the nicest option); lots of vintage Scout and Camper knives out there made from 1095 steel. Here is a Kutmaster by Utica Cutlery, bought NOS a couple of years ago for about $35.00 - it will get 'er done! OH
