I dont currently have any D2 bladed knives. I would like to test the steel out and would like an EDC to do that. Any suggestions?

Thanks

The Kershaw Leek with the composite blade is less expensive IIRC, so you might want to consider that one too.

Spyderco D2 Paramilitary

I'm very happy with the ones I have

If you want relatively heavy duty, you can't go wrong with the BM 710 (every knife nut should have at least one of these anyway, regardless of steel).

for a little cheaper option, the Ka-Bar Dozier Thorn is a great little light duty knife with a D2 blade, and I think you can find them around for about $50 bucks now.

Kershaw Composite Leek, Composite Junkyard Dog II, or Tyrade.

All three are great knives and different enough that there should be something to suit your taste and budget.

Personally, I would start with either the CB Leek (~$60)or the CB JYDII (~$70) (depends if you want a small or larger folder).

They're both awesome knives and the CPM-D2 Kershaw uses on them is great stuff.

I carry traditional slippies most of the time - EDC. I have a Queen Copperhead in D2 on my Christmas list. It is my first D2. My other Queen in 1095 is superb knife.

The CB Leek, JYD II or Tyrade...and you can add the Shallot to this list in the next week or so...

My bad, scratch the Shallot. That one is getting a ZDP-189 edge. Sorry.

Queen slipjoints! I've had very good luck with them and their heat treats. Be forewarned, they come really dull, but once you sharpen them...
