Folder

I plan on a run of friction folders later this year, that certainly is a goal. I also will be working on a liner lock or frame lock folder when I have some spare time.

My goal will be to make a folder with as tough of a lock mechanism as can be made yet have it light for EDC purposes. I see super thick Titanium liners in my future...

On the friction folders I have a minimalist design in mind, just the blade and g10/micarta scales. I might make some with Ti scales or Ti/micarta or G10 scales as well. I think the light weight and simplicity is key plus it can easily be fully taken apart, pretty cool...

I have been carrying and using my friction folder almost daily and really like it. I was a bit suspect of the design but it works way better than I figured. I feel it is a design I can feel good about making. My roller bearing idea didn't pan out because with loose action it can open in the pocket but in my opinion a pure friction folder is a rocking design.

A framelock with ti and carbon fiber would be incredible. You could also throw in your speciality of chisel grinds on really thick blades:eek:. I am going to start putting money aside...

That does sound nice! Framelock, maybe .315" chisel ground blade.... oh yes!

BTW, that friction folder looks really nice. I love chisel blades with that wide fuller.

Thanks! The fuller on that one is super deep, I wanted to reduce blade weight and it came out pretty wild!
