Folders that can handle dust/dirt?

My work involves a lot of dust dirt and mud (Construction landscaper). Most of my folders get full of it and get very gritty when opening. Are there any folders out there that keep all of it out and stay smooth when opening?

I think the ZT Mudd (500?) is supposed to have seals to keep out dirt. Only one I have heard of.

The 0500 can handle any environment you throw its way. I've used mine in the worst conditions you could imagine, and it cleans up under running water. No disassembly needed afterward, just wipe down the blade.

Even more simple, get a fixed blade in the right size.
No lock to break and very easy to clean.

I second that. Folders are not made for outdoors activities and heavy use, that is what a fixed blade is for IMO.

my thoughts, too - unless there is a legal reason why you can't carry a 3-3.5" (7-9cm) long fixed blade.

All good suggestions, except the OP asked for a folder that can handle dust and dirt conditions without problems.

Yeah, I was going to suggest a fixed also, but hesitated for fear someone would point this out. Regardless, sometimes the best answer is then one we accidentally excluded with the wording of our question. In the event that the OP is open to the suggestion, I will make it. If not, feel free to stop reading.

Think about it. Fixed blades can be very in expensive compared to a folder suited to your use conditions. Personally I prefer folders, but lets face they have limitations associated with moving parts.

Hope you find the solution that works best for you.

My vote is for Emerson. I've NEVER had one get past the point running water couldn't take care of it.

My dad uses the BM (Same as mine but the non serrated one) for construction every day use. never had a problem with it.

My Vote is the ZT 500 AKA MUDD
Get one while you can I was told they have been discontinued. Maybe someone can confirm this from Kershaw
