(search didn’t yield much).

Im looking for production folders of ‘reasonable’ cost (under $150msrp) that have removable inlays. I’m a hobby leather craftsman and have several exotic (gator, croc, ray, etc) skins from prior projects that I want to experiment with making inlays for my own collection, not sale.

The inlay material doesn’t matter, as long as they come off w screws…not a pry job. I was about to buy a kizer apus on the cheap today but they sold out at $80 which would’ve been perfect.

Any come to mind? And yes I know CRK has great inlays but not for the science experiment I have in mind 🤓

Thanks all

I have not attempted to swap out the inlays on my CRKT HAWK DOG folder but I know it is easily done because CRKT includes a second set of inlays with the knife. Sorry, no picture of the second set as they are in the box which is stashed away in storage.

I can get a picture of them later today if you want to see them. Just let me know but for now, here's the knife.

That’s a great one thanks! But looks like it’s sold out everywhere. Yes, these are the types of models I’d Ike to know about so I can opportunistically look for them on sale.

Design wise pretty much perfect. Know of any current production models like this? Even better if they’re popular ones I’m just not aware of yet.

Thanks again

When I think "handle inlays" I think of a piece or pieces that are set into the frame/handle of the knife, not just screwed to the side (I call those "handle scales").

Here are a few examples of what I consider to be "inlays" (knives currently available and under $150)-

CRKT Ken Onion "Jake"

CRKT "Cinco"

CRKT "Symmetry"

Case "Marilla" (they come in a variety of handle colors)

Just today, i was wondering whether the inlays of the Bestech Togatta were removable, since the stonewash version i want comes with micarta, which i don't like much.
If someone owns one maybe can give us both a tip!

EDIT: In case you're interested, i have contacted Bestech and they confirmed that the inlays of the Togatta are removable.

I believe the Buck 110 Hunter Sport and the Buck 112 Ranger Sport scale inserts are removable. Buck's picture of the 112.
