Lots of ways:
- Manually 1. Cut out inlay and shape to preference, scribe onto handle, very carefully dremel away inside of scribe lines and fit in inlay.
- Manually 2. Cut out pocket you want filled, line with petroleum jelly or something, put in epoxy to get mold of what inlay needs to be shaped as, remove epoxy and glue to inlay material, carefully grind/file/sand around epoxy mold to get inlay.
- Parsher plate. Buy shield and parsher plate from somewhere (e.g., leading edge fabrication) and mill/dremel out pocket then put in shield.
- Pantograph.

Mostly parsher plate now a days, but I did a lot of "Manual 1" back in the day and still do that occasionally if I'm doing something weird. A pantograph is very appealing. Check out Rick Genovese's Instagram and Facebook page to see some inspiring examples of "Manual 2".
