I wrote this in reply to another thread, then I figured maybe few people would see it so I'm posting it here:

I have an old Spyderco that is just about indestructible. It has a serrated edge that just keeps on cutting. Problem is that it can't be cleaned. I used to be able to flip it open with a flick of my wrist, using my thumb with a snapping action. Now I can't do that. I have tried every way of cleaning it imaginable and it still opens to roughly to do it one-handed. I think they, or someone, make a similar knife that can be taken apart and cleaned. Does anyone know of such a knife?

The Toolshed: Care Maintenance and Tinkering forum, or the Blade Discussion forum, both just before this forum on the menu, are the likely places to get lots of opinions. That said, the Leek is very maintainable. Also writing the factory will get you to the "horses mouth".

BTW did you try the Spyderco forum in Manufacturers forums, for help solving the problem??

No. I had just thought of it when I wrote that message. I'll give it a try. Thank you!
