Please go easy on me, as this is my first attempt at a folder.:)
The idea was a slip joint in the style of a Loveless City knife. Size wise, it's actually somewhere between a City knife and a Stiff Horn, but like I say, it is my first!
The hollow ground 2 3/4" blade and back spring are 80CrV2, and the handle length is 3 3/4". Handle material is straight weave carbon fibre and the liners and fittings are 304 stainless.

As always, many thanks for taking time to look.

Mr. Bailey, she is a Beauty!
I'll take it! ( I wish )
Thought about your Deliverance comment the other day, saw an old jeep with a bumper sticker,
"I hear banjo music"
Anyway, a gorgeous piece of work here. Flows famously and the F&F are spot on.
Stout and Elegant at the same time.

Well done my mate proud of you

That's a gorgeous piece of work! I have trouble believing it is your first because i have seen many a "custom" hand built folder that isn't finished or fitted nearly that nice. All I can say is "wow!".

Thanks mate...I've not forgotten you by the way, I'm just way behind on answering emails, PMs, etc. It's been a busy week!

Thanks mate.
I can assure you it's my first...beginners luck I'd imagine. :o
I've never really been into folders, my only experience (with regards to making them) before this has been taking one apart and fitting new handle scales.
There's a couple of things I'm not happy with, (small gap at the back and the fact I wasn't sure how or at which point to apply the nail nick stamp I made for it:confused:)...but for a first, I'm actually rather pleased with it.
Brian...big thanks for suggesting making I one. Without you going on about it for ages, I'd probably never have bothered trying.

Ian,
The pleasure was all mine mate,
From the off you put your extremely high standards into it, this allowed me to up my game with your watchful eye, look at the ettempts practicing my stamp with you looking on and anylising what I was doing wrong...if you weren't there sure it would not of come out like it did.
For the collectors and fans of folders who have not had the opportunity to make one I appreciate all the advice and gained knowledge, but the biggest thank you is to the guys and girls who have battled on past their first folder, as these have to be for me so far the most fiddly, brain exhausting knife yet.

As for us repeating another folder...only time will tell;)
Thx my best buddy
Bri

Nice. I was actually hoping for brass bolsters and the resultant groans, but you've tired of that parade... ;)

Seriously, that's hard work keeping all those components in working order.

Your backorder list will get over-the-top now with this gem. Just say no, and then make 'em when you can. :D

Best,

Coop

HARD to believe that is your first folder Ian!

It is nice looking and you nailed the blade being centered in the blade pocket.

WELL done!

Peter

- nice to see this pop up here again

Yep, one helluva sweet folder

You made a real nice job of that one Ian, especially as it's your first folder. When you told me that you was going to make a folder there was no doubt in my mind that it would be a cracker, just like all your other knives you make and I've got a few as you well know;)
