Folding Cowhorn

Most of the seasoned makers here know that horn can be bent, flattened etc, by heating in either water or oil. For the newbies, it is easy and makes it easier to use horn for scales and handles. I decided to build a new friction folder yesterday and just for fun tried to fold a section of horn completely over. I used boiling water and did the fold in 4 steps but it worked with very little splinering at the fold. A light sanding took care of that. Something new to play with in your spare time!
 
cool, I've tried that before and it works, just got to go slow and easy.

Now lets see some pics! that sounds like it'd be a cool friction folder.
 
I'll post em when I finish but I'm afraid it's going to be my entry in this years "Ugly Knife Contest":o
