ok Ill make this short and sweet.

what are some of your favorite HARD USE folders ? Folding crow bars that you can beat the SHIT out of ( in a good way of corse ;) )

Some of my favorites are the cold steel recon series and voyager series. Let me know what you think.

Benchmade 275 Adamas is easily the hardest-use knife I've ever used, beats out even the ZT0560 for perceived toughness. Plus, with the AXIS lock, it won't fail when prying like the frame-locks often do when used incorrectly (as prybars). the D2 steel is a breeze to sharpen, so when you beat the crap out of the edge you will have an easier time reshaping it than if you had a harder stainless steel. Plus, it's damn sexy.

There's good reason there isn't such a thing as a folding prybar. I don't think any pivot would be able to handle the stress.

With that said, knives are designed to cut not pry.

If you're interested in a pry bar, check out the Maratac breacher bar. I actually keep one in my survival bag. With some work you could probably even sharpen one. But it's not a folding tool.

Edit: I have been proven wrong. Apparently folding prybars do exist. :foot: Although I challenge you to find one other than on Google Image search.

Adamas is my most brutish folder. It's the only folder which feels 100% comfy in my xxl hands.
However I never pry with it or any of my other folders or fixed knives.

The CS Recons are tough, especially for the price. Many of the ZT's, in particular the ZT200 for me. It's thick and beefy from the handle to the liners to the blade. I grabbed one for sub $100 on closeout. I can't see beating the crap out of a folder in general, but definitely not over $100. Maybe grab an Izula or Becker Necker for back pocket or horizontal belt carry.

Heaviest duty folding knife I own is the Benchmade Contego.

It's ridiculously overbuilt in my opinion and as such ends up left at home most days, buts it's still a very cool and tough knife.
