I wanna make one of these, being out in the woods I see a lot of nice wood for making fences and rails, I'd love to have a folding draw knife, great for debarking, shaping pole ends and any other number of wood working tasks. I've got a fixed blade one out in the garage I found looks like it's from the early 1900 s, I use it all the time for trimming and shaping. It'll shave paper thin curls of wood like a plane.
Here's some shots of a folding one I found on the internet, anyone know if there are any modern makers out there that have made a version of this?
I can just see one in M4 with some nice maple burl handles and some kinda trick locking mechanism to keep the handles open and closed.
What do ya think?
