I'm looking for a folding karambit and I'm trying to get my options together. I was wondering if anyone could give me there input on a karambit that has a wave feature or at least an opening hole that I can put a zip tie in. blade steel isn't a concern as long as its AUS 8 or better. blade length also isn't as long as its at least under 4.5 inches. I've looked into 5.11 and Emerson but the Emerson is too expensive and I don't like chisel grinds but the 5.11 is till an options I was just wondering what else is out there

P.S. I would like to keep it under $100 but I'm willing to go a little over that

thank you for your time and knowledge :)

A lot of people seem to like the 5.11 CUB Master 2.0. There's also the new Quartermaster B.A. Baracas. Both are around $100. The CUB is S30V and the QM is CPM154. Both have opening holes for a zip tie wave. The QM is heavy (6.5oz?) with it's 3/16" thick blade, so that might be an issue. QM is a new company with some ambiguous Mantis ties, but they appear to have upped the fit and finish over many Mantis designs. At least one person here has one and seems pleased enough with it.

I like the QM and I don't mind weight. I'll carry some big cold steels if I'm in the mood haha. anyway where would I be able to purchase the QM?

I haven't handled one yet, so I can't tell you. I don't remember who it is here who has one, but maybe they'll see this and be able to answer that. All the QM's I've seen vids of appear to have decently thick liners and look like they lock up nice and early, though.

The knife seems a bit thick and Im worried that it would feel to bulky. I can take weight but if it feels like Im carrying a brick on my pocket the that's when it will start to bother me

Cant go wrong with the 5.11. It takes time to get use to if your like me and never have owned a Karambit. However once you get to know it and with practice you will have the most lethal folder under 3''.

The Fox model FX-599 made in Maniago, Italy which incorporates the patented Emerson Wave feature.
$129.95 if purchased through the U.S. dealer, $102.00 from the dealer in Finland.

The Karambit is amazingly ergonomically comfortable with no ridiculous double ring.

The FX-599 opens faster than lightening and fits my hand and pocket superbly.
Other than utilizing the patented Wave feature, it's nothing like an original standard Fox Karambit, not like an aluminum handled Karambit nor is it like the standard Emerson Karambit.
The blade is smaller and lighter, the ring was redesigned/re-sized and for me it's ergonomically superb, unless the OP/user has a hand the size of a large catchers mitt.
If 1eenyou're able to find 1 negative owner/user review of the 599, please show it to me.
Re: Fox knives, my experience has been completly positive, I own a Combative Edge SALUS made by Fox which is superb, also using Böhler N690Co steel.

The karambisong is really cool but doesnt have a wave or hole. Its a karambit balisong hence the name

And I believe Richard Derespina uveiled a new production folding karambit at Blade. There is also the Blade-Tech Riptide. The Quartermaster is too thick/bulky. Personally I carry a Emerson daily and the 5.11 would be my next choice.
