Good eye, Steve. I wonder if that that's confirmed kills or times the blade as been smacked on the backside and closed on his fingers.

mmmmmmmmmm Reminds me of those USAF & RAF WW2 folding survival machetes, sort of matches the orange handles as well. {like the USAF issue switchblades.}

Wonder if it was an Indian versian? or a commercial venture?

The one in the photo was made by Imperial. It is a very interesting design since the blade guard is integral to the folder and folds forward to become a locking mechanism.
