Folding knife/fixed sheath

Hey guys, tossed this together real quick, nothing special, just something a nice lad hinted at me making a while back. Never seen or heard of anything like it so I figured Id give it a try. Im sure it has been done before, if you know that to be true then please enlighten me :thumbup:

I personally dont see much use for it unless you are opposed to fixed blades or frequently open your folder to use, if you can think of any practical uses please post them.

I didnt have any proper attachment hardware at the time so please ignore the ghetto job, just wanted to give a better mental image was all.

I like that, I've been thinking about making one of those out of Leather. No much info on them, I'm glad to see one. Have you gotten much used out of it, what are your thought on it now?

Hey buddy, didnt use it, sold it. The buyer didnt complain so I guess thats a plus. Not many will have use for it, kinda gimmicky, since starting this thread months ago, Ive actually seen a few others who have done this for a while. I Got no interest in them so I didnt do another. However Since I have had about a half dozen people ask if I do something similar so its not a complete wasted idea I recon.
 
Don't get too many calls for these, but I've been setting up sheaths for folders with deployed blades since the mid 90's. Main use is for people in places that do not allow the carry of fixed blades, but want to carry for SD. Usually use an IWB loop so the sheath can be removed easily if needed, and knife is back to being a folder.
 
these would be popular in places like Seattle that don't allow fixed blades at all and I think folders only up to 3" I just put one together real quick cave man style to see if I like how it carries then maybe I'll get or build a nicer one latter.
 
Very nice setup!

The Gerber Parabellum had a similar idea sheath I think.
 
Well done! I like the concept! It does make me remember one production company had one for their folder, maybe MOD on that Deiter folder that I lusted after for so long. Well, I still want that beast in auto. :)

btw my friend, project Rattlehawk is well underway, briefing to come soon. :D
