What folder in the 75-150 pricde range would you recommend for a hunting camp caretaker in his 40's who
maintains the camp equipment, does some planting with tractor, occasionally cleans game? The Cold Steel American Lawman seems suitable to me, maybe a custom Buck 110. I am most interested in your thoughts.

What about those two knives interested you? They're pretty much on opposite ends of the spectrum. If you're cleaning game, then you will probably want something with a drop point that you can take apart and clean easily. If you don't mind the weight and bulk, the Cold Steel AD-10 might be a better choice since the point is dropped a little more than the American Lawman and the contoured grip is more comfortable.

Buck 110 Slim Pro or 112 Slim Pro.

I’ve been using a Buck 110 for over 34 years now and it’s been a great knife for hunting, fishing and camping. If I ever found myself stranded in the wilderness with only a 110, I wouldn’t be concerned about having enough knife.

K55K Mercator. The simplicity and the size of the knife make it quite reliable and versatile.

If they're gonna get blood on it why go through the trouble of using a folder? The cleaning afterwards can be quite annoying, especially because not all knives can be disassembled.
Get a small fixed blade with a overmolded or G10 handle & be done with it. Wash up under the sink with some dish soap, no hassle.

I cant recommend anything specific, but there are so many good ones these days its hard to go wrong. I certainly recommend going stainless and maybe something in a bright colour like red, orange or yellow.

I gave him a fixed blade last year

I will recommend either a Buck 110 or a Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter. The CS has the option of orange scales and costs a little more. Good luck, there are a lot of options.

A Buck 110 with improved steel is a pretty awesome choice. DLT Trading has a 110 Ultimate Hunter every year (I think). I got one a while back with S35VN steel, black linen micarta, and a drop point. I got the custom sheath through Amazon.
