I posted this here because there were no specific "saw" forums...

With regards to folding saws in the woods for survival for cutting fire wood which blade shape is more efficient and faster at cutting wood between the rectangular/straight vs rounded blades? Also, what length blade would be optimal? At least a 10" inch blade/saw? I'd like your professional opinions before I make a purchase buying one.

It depends more on the teeth of the blade as to how deep/fast they cut. If both have a similar blade the rounded will cut a little more efficiently.

Not knowing what your uses will be ...camping or just for an emergency pack day hiking etc ... If I know I'll be using a saw I found a take down saw that folds up and stows away like the Agawa Boreal Saws cut much better/faster and aren't much more to pack than a good folding saw. They offer different type blades depending what kind of wood you'll be cutting and the carry pack they offer will hold a spare blade or two as well. They now have a smaller 15.75" version if the 21 and 24 are bigger than you want.

It's more for an emergency situation if I were to be stranded at night during cold weather and have to cut/saw fire wood all night to stay warm to avoid hypothermia... Similar to this situation below...
