This may have been covered but I couldn't find it-
When is the saw expected to be available? I've been looking for a good folding saw and I think I want the Spyderco.

One more try. An estimation for when this will be available?

You probably want more precision than this, but the lady at SFO said it should be availabe between the middle and end of the year.

Wish I had a month for you.

While you're waiting for the SpyderSaw to come out, you could get yourself a Cold Steel Vaquero Grande to hold you over.:D.

Hi AF. Not ignoring you, just having a tough time getting to the forums as much lately.

Regarding delivery, I can tell you that it is "scheduled" for March/April delivery.

This is another totally new area for Spyderco. The tooth pattern is very precise. The blade has a distal taper from the teeth/edge to the spine. This reduces friction in the kerf when cutting. Lab tests were good on smaller blades. Tooling was necessary to create the longer blade. We're looking forward to this model. When we create a product is a "new" area, there are often unexpected glitches because we're treading into "uncharted" (at least for us) territories. I can guarrantee that the performance you receive with our products will be far longer than the time waiting for it.

This is not to be compared to a serrated edge. This blade is for sawing, not cutting. A saw has no cutting edge betwen the teeth, the material being cut is removed by the teeth. Matter separation occurs without spreading the material, just creating a space for the cutting edge. on a serration, there is a cutting edge between the teeth, little material is removed and matter separation spreads apart the material making space for the cutting edge, if that makes sense.
