Is there substantial difference in the quality of different folding saws out on the market now? I'd like something primarily for cutting wood for the fire while camping, maybe a little pruning around the yard. I'd like it to be able to cut bone if I ever decide to take up hunting again.

Yes.

Bone saws I have used have teeth too small to make much speed cutting most wood.

I read something about a Felco saw in another saw thread... is a "Silky" made by Felco? Every place I look seems to have the two of them advertised together, and the Silky saw my fiancee has sure looks like one of the Felcos I saw somewhere.

Silky brand is no way associated with Felco. Silky saws are made in Japan by UM:Kogyo Inc., a company which has specialized in the manufacturing of saws since 1919. Felcos are swiss made tools by FELCO SA. Check this out - http://www.SilkyStore.com

Thanks Fox, but I realized that myself a while after asking that question.

I'm still very impressed with the little Felco 180 my wife has.

Stanley, Bosch and some other woodworking tool manufacturers make folding saws that use a reciprocating saw blade. This allows you a wide selection of blades for both wood and metal. The metal blades in this style saw are a good solution for cutting up the aluminum sheet of your aircraft to improvise equipment and shelter. They can kink, so be sure to carry spare blades.
I have carried a Stanley folding saw with blade assortment in my hunting kit for years. Just the thing to zip off that offending tree branch blocking your shooting lane or sawing thru a leg bone or pelvis bone. Stanley has an endless assortment of reciprocating saw blades so take your pick of tooth size and pitch. You can store extra blades in the handle. About nine dollars at Ace Hardware.
