are there any good folding throwing knives, or knives that fold and work well for throwing? i've seen someone use a CS kudu, which was pretty cool. i just want a throwing knife that is also useful outside of the sport, and can be used as EDC.

Folding throwing knives?

No.*

*May be debatable in some cases but even the toughest folding knives will not endure a good throwing gracefully.

Eygen is correct. Using a folding knife as a thrower is pretty much the same as using a throwing knife as a nail you pound into wood with a hammer.

It will eventually destroy the knife.

there is a folding fixedblade, basically a fixed blade with a pivoting handle, you fold the tang into the handle to use the knife, you fold the blade into the handle to secure the knife, i've got no idea what its called

I've heard that some balisongs are good for throwing.

Perhaps once, maybe twice. Most balisongs get loose and clatter after years of simply opening and closing. I honestly can't think of a knife that would fall apart faster than a balisong after throwing. The pins just can't take the kinetic energy of collision like that.

Thats true for the cheapy and the regular balisongs, but you can overbuild those things you know :)

The more complicated the knife the worse for throwing.
I threw my SOG twitch into a tree (campsite boredom) and the knife actually locked open. the safety switch to keep it from opening closed with it open.
