Every tourist-type store in Alaska carries Ulu's, and most of them are very good at sitting on one's counter and looking Ulu-ish... I know that the blade style can be very useful for food prep, and I guess Gerber is getting some mileage out of marketing it, but I was pondering carrying such a blade the other day.

Assuming you decided it was a worthwhile tool to have on your person, how would you attach such a knife to your belt/pocket?

Have you ever seen, or can you think of a way to create, a folding Ulu?

Stryver, wondering how cold ice needs to be to cut effectivly with it...

I have seen Ulu's that come with belt shealths.

I can't recollet having ever seen an Ulu folder though.

Stryver, I bet you could make it work with some kind of butterfly configuration, depending on how wide you want the blade to be of course.

I actually own an ULU that my dad gave me when I found it at his office, he is a doctor and one of his patience gave it to him, mine is not a folding one and I really like the look of the folding ones...

It is a nice conversation peice and good for displaying...

I did a very thorough review on PJ Turner's Uluchet.

Check It Out

The Uluchet is one of the most practical skinning tools I have ever seen.
