Thought you folks might like to see a couple of shots of a really nice little fixed blade I just got recently from knifemaker Ryan Whittemore (Whit) who sells a few on the knifemakers forum here. Catch one if you can.

It is forged 52100 fitted with osage orange. Great compact utility slicer. OAL is about 6.5". Cost less than a tank of gas for my Land Cruiser. :)
Whaddya' think?

Fits in my jeans pocket just right with a tether. Been ridin' with me all week.

Well, I love 52100 and I really like Osage Orange (Bois D'Arc), so I guess you got yourself a winner! Nice one!

It sure is handsome....and the blade looks real useful. CONGRATULATIONS !!!

- regards

Looks like a useful worker:thumbup:

And a tank of petrol costs? About 124 dollar in the EU assuming you have a 70litre(20+ gallons?) That's why diesel is getting so popular:D

Nice acquisition that knife!

That is nice looking blade. I especially like the slender handle and blade shape. I'm really starting to get into the smaller fixed blades these days. Good purchase!

Super looking knife there! It looks like you have got a real winner especially in 52100(one of my favorites). I really love that sheath and tether concept. It reminds me of Ron Ryders "Buckaroo" only for the proverbial slipjoint instead.

I have also purchased several fixed blades from Ryan. He makes a fine cutter. He also price's his knives pretty darn reasonably as well.. Great find.

I like it, has a nice oldtime "folksy" look to it. I have an old carbon steel Case paring knife that is very similar in profile that I made up a simple puuko style sheath for, and it works great for a unfolding pocket knife. Of late I've been trying that idea.

Do you have a contact for Mr. Whittemore?

How thick is the blade ?

Cool ! Happy 4th Ford !

Ryan is a great knifemaker. I have 3 of his knives. This is my favorite, his EDC model in O1 and desert ironwood.

Hey sunny, no apology necessary my friend. I am glad to see the info you posted, and always pleased to share a thread with ya'. :)

I really like that one, Ford. There is just something about it that appeals to me. The folksy simplicity maybe:D . I don't know. I guess I don't have to have the words as to why, I just like it.

Love it! Clean, simple, to the point.

Those look great! The design is elegant and seems really usefull, and 52100 and O1 are fantastic steels. I think I need to get in touch with Mr. Whittemore.

I just saw this thread and wanted to thank you all for the kind words! Uncle Sam has moved me, again, so the contact info on the card is no good. I apologize for any inconvenience if you tried to call or write. You can contact me thru BF, via email, or call 334-230-9503.

I haven't gotten my new "mini-shop" set up yet, but it shouldn't be too long before I have a few more knives for sale here.
