Follow Up Question For The Poll

This Old Guy thinks that the soon to be discontinued Improved Bowie in 3/16 O1 with a Scandi grind would handle his Woodcrafting needs.

Have not made one yet in 3/16, only 1/16, 3/32, and 1/8, but this Old Guy thinks it just might too.

My CBK does everything I need. Really want one one of your Kepharts to try out, though.

The Tool without a doubt.;)But the Improved Bowie & Bushcrafter will do.

That's not a bushcrafter, that's a Hiker, :p

which is actually my vote from the ones I've tried

Dang it,you're right,it's a HIKER.Thanks to you & Todd for it too.
Man it sucks getting old......
This is a Bushcrafter...that Andy won in an auction for Hanna.

I'm still using your Combat and Companion combo as my current bushcraft/multipurpose knife. I'd also consider The Tool, and your new Nexus I just took a gander at. It's a beauty.. and making my wallet do evasion/resistance/escape maneuvers.

Of those I have, either my bushcrafter or kephart will do just about any knife task I have when out in the brush.

Of those currently offered on your website, the Rule 9 or the Kephart. A couple others (like the Tool) are close and would work fine for the types of tasks I use a knife in the woods, but aren't quite there. (I prefer a longer handle than most for comfort)

I don't consider myself a bushcrafter but I use my Appalachia Special and Kephart HD for woods carry, hiking, camping etc.

I also really like the look of the Model 5! A 4"- 4 1/2" blade version of it in 5/32" or 3/16" would be my kind of woods knife as well.

Of the current lineup, I'd say Rule #9, Trapline and Tool are pretty close. I think I'd really like the Trapline, especially if it had a little longer handle and maybe a little fatter handle based on the pics I've seen. I've found that the sweet spot for me is a 4" - 4.5" drop point blade and a thick 4.75" handle.

As anyone who has hung out here long enough knows, I will modify any model to suit the customer, longer blades, longer handles, no problem!

Any knife is a bushcraft knife, to me anyway. My favorite model of yours ATM is the C/U 6, so I would use that as a bushcraft knife.

But sticking with the spirit of the thread. I think the Proud Supporters knife and the first knife you sold would be my best available "bushcraft" knives from you.

ETA: That orange G10 handled clip point you have up for sale is a good looking one too. Looks like a very handy knife.

My vote is the tool as well:) So far it has been exactly what I was looking for in a "all around outdoor knife" whether it be for bushcraft/wood craft, hunting, fishing, hiking, etc.

I pretty much use my CBK for everything except chopper duty. Guess I'll have to join rdrogers out in left field ;)

I wouldn't mind one in 3/32 with a scandi grind though....

I didn't vote in the poll because I don't see that my main interest in knives falls into one of the four categories. I love neck knives and have several along with a few hunting knives that I have used for years. I own knives that could be categorized as tactical but I didn't buy them with that purpose in mind. I spend a reasonable amount of time outdoors hiking, camping, hunting, and fishing but don't consider any of my activities as bushcraft. One of my favorite knives for my outdoor activities is still my Hiker. It may be a bit too large to be a necker but would be capable of filling the other three roles.

My Phoenix, JK Original, and the Improved Bowie would do the trick. I'm partial to full flat grinds these days...they eventually become convex over time!
