Thanks to a suggestion by rdangerer on the blade discussion
forum I made a strop of leather with a mouse pad as backing.
Glued both to a piece of oak and charged the leather with green
rouge after wetting the leather with kerosene. A few strokes and the wire edge is gone and my Sebenza is much sharper than it was from the factory. I can now filet newspaper with it and I have several bald spots on my arm!
