Ok so as promised here goes
Recieved this beautiful little pair this passed friday. Bk9 feels great in the hand . Finish was nice ,blance was good .Overall great , again my only gripe being the slightly uneaven edge .However it is still sharp and i plan on making it sharper so it doesent matter to much.
So i immediately went to town shredding to test the edge a little. I used my little el cheapo sharpener and it helped. Shredded paper pretty readily.
As sooon as i could i got both of these knives out to test them on some firewood. Bk9 and Gerber LMF
I had a bunch of firewood linned up but the rain came so i had to hurry.
I only got to use the branch from a live oak that i found on the ground.
Started with the gerber . It did well but was nothing compared to the BK9 i soon found out.
I switched to the BK9 and found myself favoring it the whole time. So much easier than the 5 1/2 " blade on the LMF.
I got out the wrapped bk13 and used it with some magnesium and lint i saved from the drier to start a small fire.......
