Ok so as promised here goes

042.jpg

Recieved this beautiful little pair this passed friday. Bk9 feels great in the hand . Finish was nice ,blance was good .Overall great , again my only gripe being the slightly uneaven edge .However it is still sharp and i plan on making it sharper so it doesent matter to much.

So i immediately went to town shredding to test the edge a little. I used my little el cheapo sharpener and it helped. Shredded paper pretty readily.

As sooon as i could i got both of these knives out to test them on some firewood. Bk9 and Gerber LMF

I had a bunch of firewood linned up but the rain came so i had to hurry.
I only got to use the branch from a live oak that i found on the ground.

Started with the gerber . It did well but was nothing compared to the BK9 i soon found out.

I switched to the BK9 and found myself favoring it the whole time. So much easier than the 5 1/2 " blade on the LMF.

I got out the wrapped bk13 and used it with some magnesium and lint i saved from the drier to start a small fire.......

Overall i find the BK9 knife set to be a great value and a great knife that will probably last forever if well cared for. There are better knives out there but this one it deffinately a situation where you get a little more for less.
Always a good chioce of blade in my opinion.

I give the BK9 set a big

I saw your post over on the Scrap Yard forum and was pissed that I got to it after you edited stuff out.

Lucky for me you posted over her too!

Yeah I had to edit it. But I suppose it was for good reason. Hopefully I will get some better wildlife pics the ne t time I go. I was in a bit of a hurry.

Great pics, thanks for sharing. Right now I'd defintely rank the BK9 as the best 'bang for your buck' large fixed blade out there.

Haha, did anyone else quickly scroll through the pictures and mistaken the below picture for a bk-9 with a chipped/burnt blade?

I can sure see what you are referring to. It gives me a headache to see it that way.

SOUTHSTAR, the picks are great looks like a fun area. The rain showers are beautiful; send 'em this way.

Thanks for the pics . Just got my own BK9 a few weeks ago, can't wait to get out to play around with it.

Great pictures and knife. I've been buying Rat Cutlery lately, but have to check out one of the new Beckers. I think the 9 would be the one:)
