Fond memories at Blade

I just got these pictures emailed to me and they brought back great memories from Blade. My first Blade show was Blade Show West, My wife, Angel, and I went with our buddy Bob Hook. We met a bunch of really nice people there, Bill Burke, Ed Fowler, Ed Caffrey, Wayne Goddard and a bunch more. You really felt welcomed amongst that crowd. We had a great time. It seems like that was a long time ago, it was in Portland.

The next one for me was Blade east, 2009. My buddy Bob got his JS stamp, Kyle Royer tested for his too and did so well. We went to the ABS bacquet, had a great meal and met some more ABSers. It was a good show, I sold some stuff but spent more than I made on supplies and handle materials. Had a good time and met a bunch people but it went too fast.

I went again 2010, I brought my buddy Scott to this one, I tricked him into coming to help me watch my table so I could walk around some. Scott commissioned the woolly rhino short sword in the middle of the table. I didn't get around near as much as I wanted to, I always feel guilty being away from the table, besides I couldn't get Scott to stick around long enough. I met Adam and Haley Desrosiers, David Merabile, and many more on the ABS side, I am sorry to not mention your names. Later we went to Papadouxes and saw a bunch of knife riff-raff there:D. I went over to say hi to Michael Rader, Tom Ferry, Kelly Cupples and David Lisch but foregot to introduce myself. What a dork. If you guys remember the over enthusiatic-dude at Papadouxes, that was me. Saw Ed Fowler there too and a bunch of others, seems like all the knife makers were there.

Here's Scott (he's my best knife customer) and I at my table, I'm the guy that never smiles in pictures, can't get my suspenders on right.

There, someone got me to smile. We are pictured with Carol who drove in from Tennessee. When she dropped us off after dinner, she asked who the carismatic cowboy was standing in front of the hotel with the other "Outsiders" I told it was Ed Fowler, she said she wanted to take him home with her. Later I told Ed about her, he asked if she could cook, then he said "nevermind" he wasn't going to leave the Ranch.

This is Scott at Papadouxes, he asked for the biggest lobster in the tank, when the waiter came to me, I told him I would give him an extra $20.00 for the lobster that kicked his (Scotts) lobsters a$$. Man they can cook seafood there.

Anyway, Blade was great can't wait to go again, and when they start doing Blade west again I will do that too. So if you see a dorky guy with crooked suspenders there, that's me, slow me down and say "Hi"
