Fontenille-Pataud Laguiole without a mouche/bee?

I was looking at one of the small marketplace sites, and saw what looks kinda like a Fontenille-Pataud Laguiole. Except, where the fly or bee should be, there is a completely non-ornate piece of steel. Also, it does not say "Gilles" on the tang. Also, there's no hyphen in "Fontenille Pataud" on the blade (but I think I may have seen that before?).
Do we think this is a counterfeit? Or could this be from the company before M. Steinberg started the Gilles brand?

I've no idea if it's a genuine early original, or if it's a genuine faux. I know knothing of the (alledged) maker/company, or the pattern.
All I know for sure is the pattern is made by several makers/companies, like a Barlow, Stockman, or Peanut is.

Question:
Are gaps at the pivot end of the bolsters known to occur with the brand? That bothers me as much, or more than, the no bug.
The file work is different than what you normally see, too.
I don't think I've ever seen a Laguiole with bolster gaps before, no matter who made it.
Even the DIY Laguoile kit knives I've seen online (which have the bug, BTW) don't have bolster gaps.

Is the sale/asking price in-line for the brand, or "way cheap"? If the latter, that also indicates it could be a fake.

Honestly, the gaps and file work have me leaning to the "it's faux." side.
However, like I said: I don't know enough about the pattern or (alledged) maker/company to say one way or the other.

Hopefully more knowledgable folk will be along soon. :)

Hi,
It's not a Laguiole and even not an Averyronnais ( Laguiole without a bee) , it's a couteau basque, a knife from the pays basque , south-west of France.
I don't think it a copy . Just another model ;-)
Here you can see a knife from FP's website

But the real model has different rivets on the handle. As you can see on the second pic showing the couteau basque as it has been originaly created .

Thanks so so much! Very helpful!

The finish on the backspacing/tang is not what I'm used to with Fontenille-Pataud. But, I understand the company has changed owners so things might've altered.

A follow-up question (I didn't really want to ask):
If a brand new one goes for $185, what do you think is worth paying for this one, given its condition?
