If the weather permits, does anybody want to have food at the Convention? Personally I think it would be a lot of fun to have home cooked food at the Convention. I can Supply Dutch Ovens, Cast Iron Frying pans and other kitchen supplies (Having a loaded Grub box is great:)).

I have a few questions for you:
  1. Do you want to have food cooked at the Convention?
  2. What would you guys like (Ideas/sugestions listed below)?
  3. Would anyone like to pitch in?
    [/list=1]

    Ideas for main course:
Note: these are things that I'm really good at making
    • Roast Beef and Potatos
    • Chicken/Turkey stews
    • BBQ'd chicken
    • Mexican BBQ (Thin sliced Steak, Green peppers, Cucumbers, Swiss Cheese, Salatro, Butter, on Corn Torteyas, servered with Ginger Ale)
    • Honey Lemon Chicken
    • Cobblers (Peach and others)
    • Chilli

If anyone else has sugestions, I'd love to hear them. Am always up to learning new stuff. I'm now off to lunch. Thanks for looking,

Sounds good to me. I can contribute a Dutch Oven to the effort.

Logistical issue: We'd need a place that's appropriate for a cooking fire. Barbecuing is one thing, but it's a bit of a leap to an open fire with Dutch ovens. Then again, if someone on the other side of the fence is splitting wood with a tarwar or 64 oz AK, the cook fire is least of your worries :D

Wildmanh-- everything you listed sounds great. I can bring a dutch oven and/or skillets if necessary, and would be happy to bring meat, veggies, etc, or pick them up somewhere in Reno. Tohatchi NM brings up a good point about the open fire though. Dutch ovens can be used with briquettes though, so that's one option if a campfire is not a possibility. This Khukuri convention is really going to be a blast:D :D :D .

I've talked with Uncle Bill offline and after learning more about the Situation, agree that it would be best to not plan big dinner.

Thanks everyone that offered there help. Maybe we'll just have to have little BBQ or cook out in Utah this spring or summer.
