I've been searching around for a good utility sort of outdoors knife that works well in the Food prep department. medium to large blade fixed blade with carbon steel and flat grind would be prefered. Anyone have any recommendations?
well.. it's a folder but the Havalon Piranta is about the best you can do for an outdoors oriented utility knife but it's a folder and not really suitable for food prep. I've used them for light prep for camp chow but it's not a cooking knife. It's just always sharp, blades cost almost nothing and it's a good field knife that's hard to lose in blaze orange.
