Hike on Sunday afternoon in the Foothills above my home. Light was fading and I had a few miles to hike to get back to my truck so no knife pics :(

Looking further to the west you can see the coastal plain (super flat) which is mostly Orange County and a bit of Los Angeles County. You see the coast line. The dots in the water are offshore oil derricks, the island just past them is Catalina Island, and beyond and to the left of Catalina is San Clemente Island.

Here is a map of where I was in relationship to the coast and Catalina. 70 miles away!

Couple more Pics

Scenery to my back if I'm looking toward the coast.

Nice pics C....

My neck of the woods. I grew up in Pasadena, San Bernardino, and Upland....

Is that the Monrovia trail? Looks quite familiar, where you past the police shooting range, boy scout, etc? Concrete, dirt road?

Hey is the ACH open already???? We should set up a WSS hike at angeles crest

It is a trail off of Glendora Ridge Road right out of Mt. Baldy Village. That trail links up with the Sunset Ridge Fire road which is what I was on when I took the pics. I was above Upland and Claremont.

Wow. A really clear day to be picking up not only Catalina, but San Clemente, too. How long was the lens?
