For a framelock lover I seem to be ending up with liner locks....JW Smith content!

I just LOVE them framelocks. The lockup on the ones I have just seem to inspire a tremendous amount of confidence in them. The framelocks I currently have include two large sebbies, a J.W. Smith large Evolution, and I have a RJ Martin Avenger coming in the near future from a trade I made with Les R.(GREAT fella' I might add!). So what has occupied my pocket for the past couple of weeks.......an Obenauf large model 2 liner lock. Of course when you have the lockup that the Obie has I don't guess it really matters much whether it is a framelock or linerlock! I have found that the really good linerlock makers do indeed make really good linerlocks that will give you good solid lockup. With that in mind I just placed an order for a large J.W. Smith Evolution linerlock to match my large Evolution framelock. from having other linerlocks from this maker I know what to expect and that will be excellent and rock solid lockup. Here's a couple of pics from the website I purchased it from. Btw, this one does not have the recurve blade and will be the first Smith I've owned without a recurve blade!

Very Nice Art. JW Smith is another maker from whom I'd like to purchase one day. Like you, I really like his recurve blades. I've been considering a 3 Inch Scimitar Linerlock Folder I came across. It's a real beauty, just my size preference and I love the blade shape. From what I've read, he makes a smooth opener as well.

Nicely done, be sure to post some pics of your own when you get a chance.

Here's the model I've been considering.

JW really does know his way around knives. He builds in the same vein as Mike and Kit, meaning stout blades and stout liners with perfect lockup and fit/finish! I really like the scimitar and can tell you that you'll not be sorry!! :D
