I've always wanted a Buck 119 special, but being a lefty has kept me from doing it.
My dilemma was a few things :
1 - I love the look of the knife in it's factory black leather sheath

2 - I don't want to spend extra money on a left handed sheath, leaving a right handed sheath laying around and raising the price of this 50$ ( sometimes less ) knife to above the budget friendly category.

I recently noticed a factory left handed sheath on Bucks website which takes care of issue number one, but costs 30$ bringing up issue number two.

Well I emailed buck, and was told that if I buy the knife directly from them I can simply have the sheath swapped out no charge, or if bought elsewhere I can mail them my brand new unused sheath with a note and they'll mail me back a left handed sheath.

I was happy to hear this, and he was happy to have been asked such an easy question. I guess they get a lot of " out there " questions, and my email titled " I've got a bit of a strange question " didn't look good :D

Way to go Buck

Never hurts to ask, and you might be pleasantly surprised by the answer.

Well done Buck!

The funny thing is that a month or two back I started a thread about what we all wish buck made, and my big one was at the very least to be able to buy a knife and mail them the right handed sheath in exchange for a left handed one.
Now at the moment I believe they only have the lefties available for the 119, but it's a start.

Btw they also have a left handed brown sheath available.

Thanks for posting this, my son is a lefty, and I know there is a 119 in his future!

Way to go Buck.

I LOVE THIS!

It doesn't help me in the slightest, because I live in the Netherlands and can't order directly from buck anyway, but still.

I want this to become industry standard. I want retailers/sellers to offer this as well. Or maybe ambidextrous sheaths.

I think I read somewhere that about 30% of people are left handed. Isn't that a significant enough part of the market to cater to?
