I don't get it.

Considering the price, these things look pretty cheaply made. I would expect more for $50. I wouldn't want to pay more than maybe $15 for these knives. I think that for the money, you'd get much more bang for your buck, with a Buck.

I have seen this fellows x-ray videos before, they are quite interesting. Glad that I saw this one. Now I'll just get a few more regular Companions or whatever, as the heavy duties tang does not impress me. Thanks for the post.

I've beat the schnapz out of a number of moras and have yet to break one. They are great knives for the price. The steel is phenomenal.

But...the tang on the Companions is the same as the Heavy Duties. The HD's are thicker, but as far as the blade goes that's the only difference.

In all honesty, I think that the plastic Handel is stronger then the tang it self. That's why you don't really see any Mora's broken tangs, just broken blades.

You need to buy one to find out, after all they are only $15.

I own and have owned a ton of Buck knives. If you're in to bushcraft, carving wood, etc. you'll find out in a hurry these things run circles around Buck's. I was a non-believer but I had to buy one just to see what the fuss was all about. I was shocked. I bought the SS Orange Companion and tested it for months. I had to sharpen all the Buck's I put up against it, but the Mora still shaves. It also cut quicker, deeper, and with much less effort. It's almost unreal what they do to wood.
