I had a little scrap of Battleship Texas deck left. Figured out a way to use it.

That's crazy - my brother and I were just talking about making a blade from the same deck steel.

It's only about 1030 with some alloy, but it works Ok as san mai. You could theoretically put it in a billet with some high carbon and run the layer count up, but I haven't seen it tried.
