For all you earthquake junkies.

Here is a more local earthquake map for the east-central US. I work with the Kentucky geological survey to gather and catalogue a lot of this data.

The interesting thing for me is that a lot of our really sensitive seismic stations pick up things like trees falling, trains, and even garage doors closing :eek:

Sorting through those thousands of events for earthquakes can be like finding a needle in a haystack.

Madness - a British ska band - produced an earthquake on 8th August 1992 at London’s Finsbury Park.

When they performed their best-loved hit One Step Beyond, the audience's dancing caused seismometers at the University of London to suggest that an earthquake was occurring!
