For all you penaholics

thank you, thank you, thank you.....they have a pen I purchased 6 years ago and have been trying to find since then! (cigar pen)

Shouting doesn't help.

I think they are a very small company. Run by just a few people, maybe.

I placed an order for an item. It arrived promptly. The item had some stencilling on it I did not order. I thought maybe we had received someone else's order. I looked at the website again, but the writeup did not mention stencilling.

I emailed them, but didn't get a reply.

I then called them. I spoke to a very nice person. I explained the situation to them and they spoke to their shipping person. The stencilling was done with stitching the same color as the product. No one had seen it. You have to look at it in the right light to see it. She apologized profusely and immediately sent me an authorization for return. I returned the item.

I have yet to have a problem with them. You may have to work at reaching them a bit. They may be tiny and may not have many resources.

There is a saying that goes, "With the rich, always a little patience." The same goes for small companies and those run by one person. I have no complaints with even tiny companies. It may take a week or two or more for communications to resolve things, but things always work out in the end. They always appreciate my good humor and easy going attitude in dealing with them.

I would email them again and follow up with a phone call or two. One or two key people may very well be on vacation. Your shipment may have not been in its entirety, but unbeknownst to whoever billed your card.

Just my two cents.

If you read the thread Rhesus linked to you'll notice his problem dates back to November and he tried a considerable amount of "email them again and follow up with a phone call or two" before he finally gave up on that approach.

That thread is still open for posting....

cardimon, I understand what you're saying about having patience with a small company due to their lack of resources and I don't have a problem with that when they sincerely attempt to make things right when problems arise.

What I do have a problem with is being lied to repeatedly, being billed for merchandise that was never shipped, shipping the wrong merchandise, AND having the owner tell me he'd handle my order personally, only to go on vacation the following afternoon never to be heard from again.(convenient, huh) I also called every single day the week before Christmas to try and resolve the situation only to be lied to and blown off time after time.(by very nice people) One of Jim's employees slipped up and let me know they were expecting him to be in the store one night when he was supposedly on vacation. (that's when they quit answering the phone) When I called for the FIFTH TIME on December 23rd, they answered and assured me I would have the items by Christmas day, and they did indeed send the items overnight at no charge. Imagine my surprise(or is it lack thereof?) when I opened the box to find that the order had been screwed up yet again and was an item short.

Personally, I love the little "bio" about the owner, Jim Jobin, and what a good guy he is.

I have no sympathy whatsoever for these people, they're incompetent, end of story.

I did not know how bad they were guys, sorry. Like I said a co worker told me about them. I don't know if he bought from them or what. I thought the "gear heads" would like to check them out thats all.

I have ordered from the writer's edge.
They had a bit of trouble with one of my orders aound Christmas time, but my order eventualy arrived - and they had added and extra pen by way of apology.
I do not believe that they f-up on purpose. I think that these cases are genuine mistakes.

Having said that, I find Penwa.com are a little cheaper.
