....I just thought I'd let you know there's a neat little flick out on DVD right now called 'Stone Cold.' It's a Robert Parker story about a small town (ex big town) cop who runs into a series of homicides in his quiet little community. It's not the greatest screenplay in the world, the movie won't knock your socks off. But, it's good and well worth watching. There are some good scenes, a few good lines, a nice looking girlfriend for Tom's character and even a neat Golden Retriever pal'd up with Tom. This movie's about the quality of a well made TV movie overall. But, it gives those of us who like old Tom a chance to see him in something new.

That one was really good, it re-aired on CBS last night!

Strong story and good acting from everyone, rare TV!

You mean I went out and paid for a rental and all I had to do was watch it on TV?! :( :o What a dufus!

It originally air about 6 months ago, it was made for TV. Look on the bright side, you got it with no commercials!

Great news, I have been a Spencer and recently Jesse Stone fan for a long time. I never got to see the Spencer for Hire series, which by all accounts was a good thing as apparently it sucked. Tom is pretty cool. I'll have a look for it at the store, thanks for the heads up.

One of my fav lines from the Spencer books was

Person A : You know a lot more than you look like you would
Spencer : Be hard to know less

The series was "OK", they made the istake of taming Spenser down and making him to likable. Avery Brooks as Hawk was perfect, like watching the character step off the written page and into the world.

The 4 made for TV movies that the Lifetime Network commissioned after the cancelation of the series with Robert Urich were much better, he was much more like the character in the book.

The ones with Joe Montanea (mis-spelled for sure), were also pretty good.

I watched it both times it was on TV.

The pacing was very deliberate, but I really liked it. It could be a series I think.

The resemblence to Rhett Butler in Gone With The Wind is uncanny. He could frankly tell me anything and my mouth would be hung open in awe. He's wonderful.
