? for anyone who's read a book

anyone read the book "field knife evaluations" by Jerry Younkins. it has a review of a Busse camp special in it. the knife is a huge 16 1/2" oal with a 10 1/2" hollow ground blade
the blade is marked G.P. BUSSE field grade. what does the g.p. stand for?
