Seiko Black Monster Dive Watch that is....... http://www.skywatches.com.sg/watches/product_info.php?products_id=105&osCsid=c0640b0de9ea5a77307bdfb728d42b49

I have the one I linked to (which I also purchased from Sky Watches) that is approx 18 months old. Runs great, no probs. However, recently the Stop watch feature has been zeroing at a couple of seconds short of straight up. (Hope that makes sense).

Both the second hand and the minute dial do not "true up" at exactly 60 / straight up - any longer like they used to. Could this be some indication of the Battery getting low? Could it be a mech problem?

I'm not a watch guru so any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

I am not an expert either, but that is not what is usually referred to as a Black Monster. The BM is a striaght forward automatic analog watch with just a date window.

Give Seiko a call or a local authorized repair center and see if the have any thoughts they can provide over the phone. Most likely they will say to send it in for service.

Good luck.

I've got a Sieko chronograph, but I think its the same movement. The instructions say to pull out the crown to the second click, the "A" button above the crown resets the stopwatch minute hand, the "B" button does the stopwatch secondhand (if you have them set that way). repeatedly press the "A" button till the stopwatch hand is at 12, do the same with the second hand ("B") when you done push in the crown.

I have to do it when my batteries get changed and they reset the watch.

My second hand goes to 2 second steps when the batteries get low.

I believe there's a way to adjust that yourself but I don't recall the procedure. Ask Seiko or at the Seiko & Citizen Forum. It'll help if you know the model number (it's not a Black Monster; the Monster is not a chronograph).
