Good Day All,

My questions is in reference to the sheath for the Combat/ Utility. I have recently purchased a Campanion and, while I like the kydex sheath, I think I need a nylon sheath like that of the Combat/ Utility to enhance the versatility of the blade. I know I need a Combat/ Utiliy in addition to the Campanion but I can only get away with so many knives at one time. I also wonder about desert hikes in July and what effect the extreme heat might have on the kydex.

What opinion do you have of the nylon sheath so far? The sheath looks like an Eagle Industries product but, does anyone have any other suggestions for an another maker that may be better? Has anyone had a nylon sheath made for the Campanion?

Thanks in advance for your replys!

My experience with Kydex has been that heat you can endure won't affect the sheath. I spent the summer in Parker Arizona with a knife in a kydex sheath on my hip every day, and never had any trouble, even on days when the temp was above 120.

Callahan - welcome to the forums. The Eagle-style sheath that comes with the CU7 is definitely well made. It's a lightweight sheath with the Kydex insert to prevent the fabric from being damaged by the blade. The accessory pocket is a great idea. Most large one-hand folders will fit in there, as will most multitools and some portable sharpening devices.

However, the sheath is not made by Eagle.

As Burke pointed out, any heat that your body can take won't do any damage to Kydex. No worries there!

Thanks gentlemen

I didn't figure the kydex would have a total meltdown in the field. I do wonder about extended time in a parked car though (you should see what happens to a CD left in the sun). Dexter, do you know who is producing the nylon sheath for Camillus/Becker?
