Here is a very sweet 20 inch Sirupati made and marked by Murali that shows a reflection of the mountain village khukuri. The knife is 20 inches, a shade less than 3/8 thick, 1 & 1/2 wide and weight 1.5 pounds. It is very nicely done -- good finish, excellent fit, hardness about 59 Rc I'd guess. If you can see in my blurry pix of the handle you'll notice the bolster is hatchmarked -- very nice touch and take a look at the karda. Of great interest to me is Murali made the karda and chakma Chiruwa style to match the big blade. This is the first time I've ever seen this done in almost 20 years of looking at khukuris both here and in Nepal. The wood used on the handle they tell me is "hill walnut" and I'll have to take their word for it. It is the color of pine but the grain does not match pine. Wood experts might know. I don't.

Sarkis were sober when they made the scabbard and got a good do on it.

Dave K. has dibs on this knife. Matthew has second dibs. But if anybody wants one let me know and I'll order some more. Price is $125 delivered to your door.

Uncle,
You better keep this guy around! I definitely like his work!!
The wood handle is really nice and the bolster is very cool. I think there will be a few people wanting these.

Uncle Bill,
What are the pins made of? Also, How long would it take to make more? Nice looking Chiruwa style Khukuri.

This is nice work Bill, less than 3/8 thick sounds good.Do you think who ever does the handle can keep it between 4.5" to 5"?If they can or not, please put me down for one no rush.
Thanks

Robert, both Dave and Matthew decided against this one so it is yours. Send me a personal email with mailing address and I'll ship via priority mail as soon as address is received and thanks.

Pins on this one are aluminum. I've been checking and chirwas pins are running about 50-50 steel, aluminum.

I figure a month or two to get more like this. Ray I'll put in your order and see what happens.

Eda Koppo--what is a "skinnybeast"?

This was a beautiful khukuri but I just purchased the little 12" AK and a 20" Bura Cobra this weekend.

Have to show _some_ restraint, after all...

Robert, I'll ship tomorrow.

I ordered more today so stay tuned.

The Skinny Beast is owned by Jim March who is involved in legal battles. There is a picture of it somewhere -- a village model that was very, very good.

Bavaria to all you blade fans out there!

Welcome, Bavarian, come on into the Cantina, pull up a chair, and take a load off your feet. If you just been milkin the cows or sloppin the hogs, theres a brush by the door it's jest plain good manners to use to get the boots clean fore you come in...
