you can buy 2, right?

I gave my RC3 to a friend who hikes and was looking for a knife. and tomorrow I am giving my Izula to a coworker who leaves in March for 6 months to do the AT.

So I need to replace the 3 and the Ant, and I can get two more...correct?

For every ONE knife you give away you get to by TWO more!!!
One knife to replace what was given away and one as a "pat on the back" for your good deed!!!! :D

Math seems right to me, but I would suggest picking up a fifth knife just in case of the event you may happen to need to give another away so as to feel free to and not leave yourself in any sort of deficit (propper planning). It may not make sense but it is a perfectly legitimate excuse - IMHO....

Sounds about right to me. Tell your hiking friend, though, that the AT should only take 5 months. The Izzy should be great for such an endeavor -- if I had it to do over again (I was AT'ing it back in '98), I'd take what you gave away - a 3 and an Izula.

In any case, what 4 are you considering?
 
This logic seems to work for me and is true to my life. I have purchased and continue to purchase RC/ESEE knives because I tend to give them away frequently.

he has a leatherman and a little 5$ folder. was asking me what I suggest for a cheap 3-4" fixed...even tho it's smaller I thought of the Izula. It's more than he wants to spend so I'm just giving him mine.

um...I need to replace the Izula, then I'm thinking 3-clippoint, 6-clippoint and maybe a junglas
