I have been trying to run down barrel pivot pins that have a screw with a head size greater than the diameter of the pin. I recently bought some based on the picture in the catalog at Texas Knifemaker supply and they are 3/16" which is what I want but the screws are 2-56 with the smaller diameter heads than the pin itself. I really want the screw head to be the next size up from the pivot pin or even a 1/4" would be better than smaller.

Where are you guys getting these? Apparently everyone sells the one like the ones I already bought, which are now going to be used for thumb studs since I have no use for them as pivot pins. I know they exist with bigger head screws and larger screws than a mere 2-56 because I have folders that have them. Just need to know where they are being sold out of. Order number, phone number? What ever you can provide appreciated.

Thanks

I haven't looked at the website, I just call him. He has what you want and is great guy with fast service. I just ordered some stuff from him yesterday.

He has an ad in the classified section of Blade Mag. every month.

I get all my pins from Halpern Titanium. A 1/8 pin uses 2-56 screws, a 3/16 pin uses 4-40 screws. Their pivot pins never vary from the correct size.

Google Halpern Titanium.

I use (or try to use, maybe is a better way of saying it) the 7/32" pins from Halpern that are press fit on one side and screw on the other. I think that size uses an 8-32 screw, maybe?

Thanks guys. I spoke at length with Darrel Ralph on the phone the other night and I think I found some that should fit the bill. They are on the way. I do appreciate the help. I may try some from Halpern also as I've dealt with them before and been very happy.

Thanks again

Steve

Halpern is a great source. I used to use their 7/32 pivots which do have a 8-32 screw. The 3/16 pivots use the 6-32 screws. Lately I have switched over to some custom 440C pivots that I picked up from Ken Onion a few years ago
