For hunting; if you could have just one...

Ok, goofy question time: if you could have just one Buck for hunting and small fish; deer and small game; what would it be? Just one, not for collecting with knowing there's another knife coming just around the corner; just a pure using knife. My vote is for the 102. What would you pick?

I'm almost sure someone must have asked this in a different way at some time but I couldn't find it.

I am also a fan of the 102 and after reading your post my answer was also the 102. But after thinking about it for a few minutes I decided that if I could only have one I would choose my finger-grooved 112. While cleaning a folder can be a real pain a folding knife is safer and easier to carry. The shorter blade and imho better handle will give me more control and most hunting knife tasks can be accomplished with a 3 inch blade if you put a little thought into it. At least around here, might not be true in Alaska or somewhere you are game larger than deer.

If one knife for hunting, fishing and outdoors means a separate knife than my daily carry it is a BUCK 118, just the perfect knife for me. If one means only one than no question the BUCK 110.

I'm gonna have to go with a Vanguard on this one. I absolutely love the design of that knife in all aspects.

Buck's model 428 Selector. DM

Yeah, the Selector is the loophole knife of choice. If it is one blade, I'd take a 105 for a little added length.

I would take the 119. not too large
and not too small. A reasonable
compromise.
