I just finished updating my website, making two versions of plans, a semi-complete, and a completed "Caffrey Platen" available. I know many have tried to get this platen from Rob Frink, and with his blessing I am offering it. I have been using this platen for a number of years, and with the versatility it offers, am not sure I could do without it.

All the particulars can be found on the Caffrey Platen Web Page

Now that Ed sent a pic of his platen I finally remembered just who inspired my design. It was indeed Ed's post from way back then, complete with pics that I used to create clamping tool arm and multi-position flat platen - as shown in my recent video .

So from "inspired by something I saw on the Web" I now move to credit the author - Ed Caffrey !

Thanks for posting that link Pad!

I've always been one of those people who get into "the groove" when I'm grinding, and just hate slowing down/stopping to change things on the grinder. With this platen it takes all of about 10 seconds to change to any working surface on the platen, and with the tooling arm setup the way it is, even changing to another attachment is a breeze. Keeps me on track, and lets me work, rather than having to mess around adjusting things on the grinder.

No offense Ed,

But You need to have a knifemakers membership to advertise anything you are wanting to sell on this forum .This thread should also be in the supplies section. Sorry , but have to treat all sales the same.
