So the AL I bought off of BladeHQ just arrived and I've been testing how well it handles and I've noticed I can flick the knife open without even flicking the stud. Checking knife by pinching the blade's spine I don't even need to use any effort to pull it off of the handle. So is this normal? Is this meant to be a tactical feature, I've never handled a folder where I can just simply flick my wrist and activate it open before.

Perfectly normal , especially after some breaking-in . Some users prefer to open folders this way .

The spring should provide enough retention to be safe in carry . Stay completely closed until you want it to open .
