When I purchased my Spax online, it came in a clear plastic bag with a small sticker label. This sticker included the numbers 8427, which I believe is the order part number. Anyhow, it also had the "w/o leg strap" printed on this sticker, which of course the contents didn't include. My question is if this package was originally slated for delivery to the military, and it simply winding up being sold as surplus by your company, or by the military? Thank you in advance ☺

Oh, btw, where could one locate a new and proper leg strap that would typically go with this spax fc/uc sheath?

Btw... The Ontario Spax can currently be had for a good deal less than what they usually retail for. Maybe there is a current surplus (some U.S. forces have had them issued to them). It could be a surplus situation right now, or maybe they simply have not been a popular seller (I don't know either way)... But, there are some good deals to be had on these, including the package deals which include the same type of sheaths that they are issued for military use. Anyhow, I recently literally paid a little less than half of what I paid for an Ontario Ranger RD 2 hawk... And no way is the RD twice the tool, (I paid under $46 for my Spax with military sheath and shipping included). They are certainly comparable to the RD Hawks, and I usually see them roughly sell in the same price range as the RD Hawks... But the current market is definitely a buyers market if the Spax interests you in any way. Do a google search and take advantage of the great prices that can be had on these right now. If Christmas shopping includes a fireman, or some other emergency response professional, this could be a good way to get something unexpected, and something that could wind up being very useful to them ☺

Just like the Ontario RD 2 Hawk, these are made from 1/4" thick steel. The RD 2 is 1075 steel, and these are 1095.
