Hello 'Big O'...My son in law has just located a 'Black Raven' I have not seen it yet but I am very interested. Have never seen one in the flesh. Vary vary rare here.

I can't find it right now but I am sure you have a pic on BF somewhere. I wonder if you may be able to load a photo or two at sometime. Especially of the emblem. I would appreciate that greatly. If not you're still my friend.

regards...Frank

Frank - ill load one up tomorrow am when I hop in the pc - no problem.

Remember the logo will go a long way in being able to tell the age of the axe - all in the wording - if on the actual print it says Kelly axe and mfg co vs Kelly axes and tool works vs American fork and hoe vs wether it also says true temper on the other side - depending on what it says will age the piece. Also is it a single bit or double? Can't wait to see it. Let me know if u need more info.

Thanks!

Thanks 'Big O' I am going away tomorrow and won't be home for a few days. Not sure how long before S.I.L gets the Raven.
Will get back to the subject soon.

Thanks BFE. that looks nice.

Frank - There are a couple that I have - They can vary like I said depending on what time era they came from - from oldest to newest would be :

Kelly Axe and Mfg Co
Kelly Axe and Tool Works
American Fork and Hoe Co
True Temper

Sometimes you will find them that have the True Temper logo on the back side.

They are one of the most highly sought after line of axes, I guess due to the imprint and the complexity of it. Ironically, the big double bit you see in the pic came from the main office of the old Mann Edge Tool Co, based out of Lewistown, Pa.....guess they had one in there to see what the competition was up to, or maybe Kelly sent them one as a gift, who knows.

Cant wait to see yours!

Thanks!

Mike

Thanks 'Big O'. Just caught this before going away for a few days.

WOW what else can I say. You're the MAN, no doubt about that.
