do u guys tell ur parents you have balisongs? do they know? and if they do... do they think of them as weapons or do they think its fine? i mean my parents know i have other knives and blades... but this one is illegal.. so i dont know how they would take it... give me some feed back

Mine are okay with it, they really don't care what knives I have because they trust me not to stab anyone. They know I just like doing manipulations, they even gave me a BM 42 for christmas.

cool, maybe if i just explain that its for tricks and not really weaponry... they'll understand. but damn this thing is razor sharp

Oh my dad still thinks of them as weapons. He dosent really mind anymore, he just dosent want my mother to see it. As for my other classmates, the ones who know me know I'm harmless and that I cause the most damage to myself than i could to anyone else with my bali

If they dont they are scared of me but theyll learn once they know me.

hey, ouch. i just finished my first year at college, so i've been away for a while, but while i'm at home my rents just give me weird looks about my balis. they're wary of potential trouble i could get into because of the laws (and because i carry my balis), but they're cool with it as long as i'm responsible. and, i think that i should give them a little courtesy and act in such a way that they would be pleased.
we should get together and flip some time.
peace.

"i flip you... i flip you for real..."

my parents are totally cool with it. They know I carry mine daily (but not to school). My dad actually took interest in learning how to flip once, but he eventually chickened out. My mom doesn't care either. Hell, she brought me back a 4" folder (a S&W First Response).
I have three swords, two BM42's they got me for christmas (which was like, the ONLY thing I recieved

), throwing knives, throwing cards (like ninja stars), a kubotan (I carry that on me all the time), and tons of other stuff.
They know I'm responsible, so they don't care.
I've got cool parents; my mom just got back from Bike Week, and my dad listens to everything from Kid Rock to Trance.

I got banned from flipping my bali in the house because my stepdad got sick of the constant clacking, banging and rattling(damn drops).

but my mom is cool like that, she bought me my first one when I was too young to purchase my own knives(about 5 years ago).

My parents are ok with it. I have 5 swords, to many knives to count( including Balis). They see it as an art. I got my katana when I was 11 and havent stopped getting blades since. The only time they ever get mad at me is when I cut myself and I cut myselt alot. Now I learn a trick on a dulled China cheapie, and then practice on my Bm42. How old are you guys? Im 14 and graduating 8th grade in 2 days.

Mom was kind of upset the first time she saw me flipping it; she promised to stab me the first time I cut myself

. I have a jag I dulled and use when she's around, and since she knows its dull (I do mean DULL) she doesn't mind. Dad doesn't really mind, he saw me flipping a friend's once and insisted on trying. He promplty grabbed the bite handle and before I could stop him had cut the back of his hand twice. He pretty much lost interest after that

.

My mom doesnt care, i got many folders, couple fixed blades, and my bali. The only rules for my bali is:

Dont carry it (felony, i'll never be able to own a pistol)
blade must be taped when im flipping
and she wont be in the same room when im doing the big stuff(when she sees the knife leave my hand she bolts)
smile.gif
other than that shes cool, hopfully im getting a BM42 for my bday
